Dr. Firlik
Dr. Urszula Firlik has been providing dental care for more than 35 years and has served the Grand Rapids area since establishing her practice in 1992. She graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1989 and has continued to pursue advanced education throughout her career. In addition to comprehensive family dentistry, Dr. Firlik has a special interest in airway health and has completed advanced training in airway-focused dentistry, orthotropics and facial orthopedics, myofunctional therapy, implant dentistry, and physiologic dentistry. Her approach focuses on the connection between oral health, breathing, sleep, and overall wellness. Dr. Firlik is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care that helps patients achieve healthy smiles, improved function, and better long-term health.
Jill
Jill has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 22 years and has been part of the team since June 2021. Her passion for helping others began early in life, inspired by growing up with a special needs sister. Before entering the dental field, Jill worked as an activity therapist in nursing homes after earning her Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) degree in 1997. When rehabilitation job opportunities in Michigan were limited, she returned to school for Dental Hygiene and graduated in June 2004. Outside of work, Jill enjoys traveling and camping with her husband and two teenage sons, along with doing crafts of all kinds. She also volunteers at Lavender Life Farms in Caledonia and enjoys working with children at her church.
Ashley
Ashley has worked in dentistry for nine years and has been a part of our practice since 2017. She enjoys working on her new home, and spends her free time kayaking, baking, and shopping.
Kora
Kora is the newest addition to our team and is Dr. Firlik’s assistant. Kora has been in dentistry for over two years, and really enjoys working with patients to educate them about their oral health and helping them achieve their best smiles. A dentistry enthusiast, you’ll always see Kora encouraging her patients and bringing positive vibes to all those around her! Kora is the proud mom of her two-year-old son Easton. Being a mom is her favorite thing in the world. She also loves cats and enjoys fishing.
Cindy
Cindy has been working in dentistry for 45 years in total and has spent the last 21 of those years working at Firlik Family Dentistry. She has absorbed all aspects of dentistry and has found it fascinating. Cindy has gained the utmost respect and admiration for Dr. Firlik’s talents over the years and appreciates the opportunity to learn far more than just general dentistry. Outside of the office, Cindy is a mother of 6 children, 3 wonderful daughters-in-law and two wonderful sons-in-law; and has been additionally blessed with 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Laurie
Laurie is an avid traveller. She has been successful in a variety of fields, from school counseling and athletics to private business. Laurie has been in the dental field a short time. She enjoys her work, especially in interacting with our patients.
